Everton players on international duty

Ten Everton players will join their national teams.

Everton head into the international break with two points out of three matches. The break provides some much needed rest and time for contemplation for some players, while others go out on international duty. Most European teams start with an international friendly before UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers get started this weekend.  Here is where you can find your favorite Everton player donning his country's colors.

England

The Three Lions face Norway in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on September 3rd before traveling to Switzerland for a Euro 2016 qualifier on the 8th of September. Toffee defensive trio Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, and John Stones were all selected for the squad.

Republic of Ireland

The Republic of Ireland have a friendly match with Oman on the September 3rd and will begin their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign on the road against Georgia on September 7th. Republic of Ireland take the most Everton players with four: Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy, Aiden McGeady, and Darron Gibson.

Belgium

Belgium will only play a friendly with Australia on September 4th, as their Euro 2016 qualifier with Israel was postponed due to security concerns.  Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas were initially called into the team, but Lukaku was later ruled out of the game to recover from nagging injuries. Belgium coach Marc Wilmots instead called in Romelu's brother, Jordan.

Scotland

Scotland start off Euro 2016 qualifying with the daunting task of playing Germany on September 7th. Steven Naismith will hope to continue his run of good play against the Germans.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina take on Liechtenstein in a friendly on September 4th before heading to Cyprus on September 9th for their opening Euro 2016 qualifier. Muhamed Besic will look to put his Premier League debut behind him and get back to the type of play he exhibited in the World Cup.
