Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that he is still aiming to bring more signings to Goodison Park.
With the transfer window set to close at the end of August, Martinez is keen to add more players to his squad in order to deal with the added pressure of a Europa League campaign.
The Spaniard has already brought in Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry after their loan deals last summer, as well as Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic and young defender Brendan Galloway. The Blues are also expected to complete a permanent deal for young striker David Henen and a loan deal for Chelsea winger Christian Atsu.
However, Martinez admits that much of his transfer business will depend on the fitness of Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo following their long-term injuries last season. Although he previously stated that he wanted six more players for this year, there was no guarantee they would be "new players".
Everton have been linked with a whole host of players this week, including Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa, Lille man Salomon Kalou and Celta Vigo star Nolito, who managed a hat-trick against the Blues in a pre-season friendly. A potential loan deal for QPR striker Loïc Remy has also been rumoured. You can see all of these rumours here.
