The Surrey Mirror is reporting that Everton are interested in Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa.
The newspaper is claiming that Martinez has been interested in the Frenchman since April, and could look to sign him as he searches for additions to his squad.
Ben Arfa is reportedly out of favour at St James Park this year having lost his preferred number 10 shirt to new signing Siem de Jong and being fined for returning overweight after pre-season, something the player denies occurred.
The playmaker only featured 14 times last season and could be keen for the move to Goodison Park, although his wage demands could be a stumbling block. He is clearly talented, but his attitude has always been a bit of a problem wherever he has been, so his signing would be a risk in that regard.
