Everton have announced their 3rd kit today, stating that it will be worn for the first time on Saturday against SC Paderborn. This adds to the royal blue home, and all black away, kits announced earlier in the summer.
Completing this year's kit selection from the new manufacturers Umbro, it apparently has ventilation holes cut in to its back in the shape of St. Rupert's Tower, to reflect Everton's history and tradition. Steven Naismith certainly likes it, telling the Everton website,
"It's a really smart, stylish kit and will really stand out on the pitch. I like that it’s so different to the home and away strips. I know the third kit is popular in the dressing room so hopefully the fans will like it too."
It involves a white top, as is usually expected in either an Everton away or third kit, but then the bottom half is something different, with the addition of purple shorts, and also containing some quite striking purple and yellow socks. An ambitious new kit for an ambitious new Everton maybe? Share what you think of it in the comments below...
