Everton eye deal for Finnish Xavi

Roberto Martinez is reportedly eyeing a deal for midfielder Roman Eremenko.

The Rubin Kazan midfielder, labelled the Finnish Xavi, has been on Everton's radar since the winter and is keen for a new challenge.

He has spent the last three years at Rubin after a four-year stint in the Ukraine with Dynamo Kiev, but now fancies a crack at life in England and the Premier League.

That desire has alerted Everton, who might look to firm up their interest in the 27 year old as they build their squad for the forthcoming Europa League campaign. However, according to reports in Russia, Zenit St Petersburg, Dyanamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow, are also monitoring the midfielder.
