Everton are expected to announce the permanent signing of Gareth Barry within the next 48 hours.
The Mirror are reporting that Barry has agreed a three year deal at Goodison Park following his successful loan spell from Manchester City last term.
The newspaper is saying that Barry will join for £2.5m, which was the fee agreed as part of his original loan spell. The midfielder had several Premier League offers and one from Manchester City's New York MLS side, however that was withdrawn and he has since signalled his intent to join the Blues.
Despite having to offer a veteran player such a long contract, the signing is a major boost for Martinez, who can now focus his attention on trying to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea among other potential deals.
