Samaras move a possibility

Everton have been linked with a move for former Celtic man Georgios Samaras

Georgios Samaras has reportedly become a possible target for Everton.

With Romelu Lukaku looking more unlikely to come to Goodison Park on a permanent basis, the Greek has become a low cost alternative to the Belgian.

The former Celtic hitman is searching for a new club after deciding not to sign a new contract with the Scottish giants, and has already been linked with a move to Hull City.

He is currently at the World Cup with Greece, where he starred in their win over Ivory Coast, scoring both goals to seal his country's place in the last 16. Earlier this month Napoli were rumoured to have turned down the chance to sign the 29 year old.

The striker originally came to England with Manchester City, but a tally of only eight goals saw him leave for Celtic. He resurrected his career in Scotland, with a tally of 74 goals in 248 appearances for the Bhoys.
