Everton dealt Fazio blow

TalkSPORT are reporting that Everton may miss out on Sevilla defender Federico Fazio.

The Argentine recently became a target for the Blues, as well as Liverpool, after featuring prominently in Sevilla's Europa League success and fifth place finish in La Liga last season.

Both Merseyside clubs are believed to have made enquiries over his availability, with them and other potential suitors, including Barcelona, attracted by an £8m buyout clause in his contract.

However, last month the Andalusian club made contact with Fazio's agent, stating that they intended to increase his salary in return for an increased buyout clause. Reports also suggest that the player is keen to stay at the club, though the lure of the Premier League could be tempting.
