Lukaku's price rising

Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku seems unlikely to return to Goodison Park.

Chelsea have reportedly set the price for Romelu Lukaku at £32m, immediately pricing Everton out of the market.

The Metro, and several other sources in Italy, are claiming that despite impressing in two loan spells with West Brom and Everton, the Belgian does not feature in Jose Mourinho's plans.

At this moment in time, a host of Serie A sides including Juventus and Inter Milan are currently leading the chase for the 21 year old's signature, although several Premier League teams are also interested.

However, Everton's hopes of another loan spell for Lukaku seem slim as Chelsea have already rejected a loan bid from Juventus for the young striker although reports suggest he could head to Athletico Madrid as part of the Costa deal.

That deal is set to cost Chelsea £32m, so this rumoured price for Lukaku might not be wide of the mark if the London club want to recoup their outlay on Spaniard Costa.

While we all accepted that Lukaku was never likely to come to Goodison on a permanent deal, it is a little disappointing to think we will be priced out of the market so comprehensively. However, should Everton have £32m to spend, I think most of us prefer to see several signings to bolster the squad instead.
