Everton are reportedly among a number of clubs looking at Costa Rica midfielder Yeltsin Tejeda according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder currently plays his club football for Deportivo Saprissa in his native Costa Rica, and was one of the unsung heroes in his country's superb 3-1 victory over Uruguay on Saturday night.
Despite only being 22 he has already made 110 appearances for his club, with 22 international caps to his name after his debut in 2011. He played a key role in helping his country qualify for the World Cup this year.
With Roberto Martinez admitting he is using his time in Brazil as a pundit to scout potential targets, he will surely cast his eye over Tejeda when Costa Rica take on England next week.
In all truth, this one of the most surprising rumours to come out so far but with Everton keen to sign a defensive midfielder with limited funds, there could be some substance to it. The presence of Brian Oviedo at Goodison Park is another factor to add to the mix.
