Lukaku cagey on future

Striker keen to put transfer talk to one side.

Romelu Lukaku says he will only decide his future after the World Cup later this month.

While some clubs are looking to rush through deals before the start of the tournament in Brazil, others are being made to wait as players focus solely on their country.

Lukaku is set to lead the line for the ridiculously talented Belgians, who have been tipped as dark horses for the whole competition itself.

When asked by the Belgian media for an update on his future, Lukaku said:

"I’ve not thought about my future club for next season.

"For me the most important thing is the World Cup.

"I am 100 per cent focused on it – after that, the rest will follow."

The longer this drags on the worse I think it will be for Everton - especially if Lukaku has a decent tournament.

Demonstrating his talents to a worldwide audience will only increase the number of clubs wanting to sign him and therefore force his price up to a figure way beyond Everton's meagre resources.

Roberto Martinez has already said he is happy to wait until late in the transfer window to make his move for Lukaku, so all we can do is remain patient and cross our fingers.
