Everton vs. Manchester United: Team News and Lineups

Clive Brunskill

After a short week of hype, moaning, and nerves; Manchester United finally travels to Goodison Park for the first time since David Moyes left. That alone would have made this a charged atmosphere, but comments by the former Everton manager as well as Everton's quest for Champions League football has raised the stakes.

For Everton a loss all but kills their chances of playing in the Champions League. A win keeps them one point behind Arsenal. Three points will almost guarentee Everton a spot in Europe next year, they would just need 1 point from the remaining 3 fixtures.

After an ambitious lineup against Crystal Palace, Roberto Martinez has gone for a more traditional look. Naismith and McCarthy have returned to the squad, and there is no reason why the Toffees can't secure all 3 points. The last time this was such an important fixture Everton won 1-0 against a Tim Howard led Manchester United squad. The winner, a header off a free kick, scored by a Mr. Duncan Ferguson.

Lineups are below, and make sure to join us in the comments for this one. It is going to be a thrilling 90 minutes.
