Traore, on loan from Monaco, pulled up with a hamstring injury while warming up for the weekend's match against Chelsea. Roberto Martinez has told evertonfc.com that, "It is going to take a long period of time, which at this stage of the season will be a big miss. It will be weeks rather than months."
With Romelu Lukaku ready for a return and Steven Naismith putting in decent performances at striker, Traore's absence won't be felt as acutely as it could have been, but it will still deprive Everton of much desired depth and flexibility.
It has become a familiar story for the Toffees this year, with 7 of their ideal starting 11 (Seamus Coleman, Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar, Ross Barkley, and Romelu Lukaku) missing significant time throughout the season, with another 6 off the bench (Darron Gibson, Arouna Kone, Gerard Deulofeu, Tony Hibbert, Antolin Alcaraz, and Bryan Oviedo) missing significant chunks of the season as well.
A big "get well soon" to Lacina Traore, and bigger, "please don't get hurt (again)" to the rest of the boys!
