FA Cup: Gunners clash switched

Everton fans travelling down from Merseyside for next month's quarter-final will have an early start after the game was switched to a 12:45pm kick-off on Saturday March 8.

All four quarter-finals will be televised live so it was never going to be a traditional 3pm start, and with Arsenal in Champions League action away at Bayern Munich on Tuesday it was unlikely to be moved to the Sunday either.

The logical kick-off time would be 5:15pm on the Saturday, given that would allow Everton fans plenty of time to make their way down south.

Sadly, ITV have decided it will be an early start, once again ramming home the fact football supporters are now a secondary consideration to the scheduling.

The next thorny issue to be decided is the allocation. The FA Cup regulations allow for a greater contingent of away fans than in the Premier League and should Everton be given that at the Emirates there would be 9,000 Toffees in attendance.

However, the police can ask the away following to be reduced on safety grounds, which is what happened at the Emirates in the previous round against Liverpool.

The exact number of away tickets will probably be decided later this week.

The Gunners have already confirmed that the game will be a category 'B' fixture, meaning ticket prices will be £35.50 for adults, £15.50 for seniors and £10 for under-16s.

For those further afield than the UK what are your plans for the game? As a 12:45 start will of course mean an early rise for those across the Atlantic - breakfast and beer for you is it? Have your say below.
