Everton Face Arsenal In FA Cup Sixth Round

Paul Thomas

After a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Swansea City, Everton will take their FA Cup ambitions on the road as they travel to London to face Arsenal. It will be a tough contest for the Toffees, their trip down to the capital earlier in the season ended in a 1-1 draw. Two late goals in that one brought a rather exciting match to a dramatic conclusion.

For Everton it will be a chance to return to Wembley after a shocking loss to eventual FA Cup champions Wigan last year. With Manchester City being the only other big name left in the competition outside of this tie, both fans and players have to live the Toffees chances if they can get past this big fixture.

The date and time have not been announced, but the match will take place on March 8th or 9th. For TV purposes our match will take place on the opposite day of Manchester City - Wigan. Hopefully it won't be a noon match like this round was.

Elsewhere in the draw, Manchester City was drawn against Wigan Athletic in a rematch of last season's FA Cup final. For those who enjoy conspiracy theories,Sunderland will be playing Brighton & Hove Albion or Hull City and Sheffield United will play the winner of Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday
