Everton manager Roberto Martinez has rejected claims that Seamus Coleman is set to move to Manchester United.
Reports in the media have been linking the defender with a £25m move to Old Trafford as Louis Van Gaal looks to bolster a defence in desperate need of reinforcements.
That has prompted talk of a January move for the Republic of Ireland defender, who is highly regarded in the Premier League. He was a mainstay in Everton's side last year and has already made 19 appearances this year, despite a series of injury problems.
Martinez has ruled out a move for his prized defender though, saying that there is "nothing" to the story. "There is nothing for me to comment really, I haven't seen that, I have no recollection of that," Martinez said.
"As you can imagine what we want at the football club is to build something special and to make us stronger so the last thing we want to do is lose important players so no there has been no contact."
