Everton defender Matthew Pennington has extended his loan stay with Coventry City.

The youngster was set to return to the Blues on January 4 but will now stay with the League One side until February 7. The 20 year old has been a regular for the Sky Blues since joining them in November.

"We've been really impressed by Matty's performances since he has joined up with us," Coventry manager Steven Pressley told his club's official website.

"We're delighted to extend his spell here as he has reached all of our expectations both on and off the pitch. His attitude has been superb. He provides us with versatility in defence and we look forward to continue working with him."
