A number of sources, including TalkSport, are reporting that Everton will look to sign Sergio Romero in January.

The Argentine's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and his current club, Serie A side Sampdoria, may look to cash in on the 27 year old before then.

That has alerted Everton, and a whole host of other clubs, who may look to sign the Argentina international on the cheap in January. Everton in particular are looking for a replacement for injured number one Tim Howard, who is set to miss six weeks with a calf injury.

Roberto Martinez recently admitted that he may look to sign another keeper following the Americans injury, and Romero would certainly fit the bill. According to Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX, both Everton and Liverpool are preparing offers for Romero, so the Blues would face stiff competition for his services.
