The Mirror is claiming that both Everton could be preparing a move for Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt.
The 19-year-old has been in fine form for the Yorkshire club so far this season, despite the turmoil surrounding the club and its owner Massimo Cellino's decision to hire and fire managers at will.
The player has made 40 appearances since his debut last year, scoring five goals and making an appearance for the England U19s. That form has alerted the attention of both Everton and Aston Villa, with the latter potentially having to be replace Fabian Delph, who may look to leave Villa Park at the end of the season.
The promising youngster has been at the club for his whole career and has made and looks to be a star of the future. With that in mind, Leeds would likely be reluctant to see their young star leave and would demand a substantial fee for his services.
Such a transfer would however fit into the transfer policy at Everton, especially that of Roberto Martinez who has been keen to bring in youngsters and develop and the youth team as much as possible.
