Both Seamus Coleman and Gareth Barry are facing fitness tests ahead of Sunday's trip to Sunderland.
Coleman sat out the 3-0 victory over Lille in the Europa League after sustaining a cut to his Achilles in the draw with Swansea last week, while Barry was forced off the field in the second half of the game last night after receiving a gash to his shin and a knock to the ankle.
Roberto Martinez is hopeful that both will feature at the Stadium of Light but admitted in his pre-match press conference that it was too early to tell whether they will be in the squad that travels up to Wearside.
According to the manager they are not to concerned with the gash on Barry's shin but more with the knock to his ankle that will need another 24 hours before any decision can be made.
In better news, Antonlin Alcaraz's shoulder injury is not as bad as first thought and will not require surgery while Kevin Mirallas is reportedly close to a return after pulling his hamstring in the Merseyside derby. The Belgian recently posted a video of him working his way towards fitness in the gym to boost Evertonians hopes that he may return before the turn of the year.
