According to reports in the Portugese media, Everton sent scouts to Portugal last night.
The reports claim that the Blues had sent scouts to watch over the Champions League clash between Benfica and Monaco. Quite what they were doing there is anybody's guess however, if they were there at all.
The media in Portugal has claimed that Everton were present in the country on a frequent basis last season and have continued to do so this season. Apparently the club have been keeping a keen eye on Sporting Lisbon or FC Porto games but obviously deviated from their preferred choice last night.
Some rumours are suggesting the club could also have been taking a look at Monaco forward Lacina Traoré. The Ivorian spent the second half of last season on loan at the Blues and only made a single appearance following injury, but stayed at the club until the end of the season for reasons unknown.
What with Arouna Koné not expected to be match fit until January, there is every possibility the club could be looking at bringing in short term recruits in January.
