The Daily Mail is claiming that Everton are watching over Rochdale defender Rhys Bennet.
The newspaper reports that the Blues have been watching the defender, as they are keen to strengthen their backline either in January or over the summer because of Sylvain Distin's advancing years.
That has prompted them to look at a number of targets, and versatile Bennett is one of them. The defender can play right back or centre back and has impressed with his performances in League One this season.
The 23 year old began his career at Bolton Wanderers before going on loan to Falkirk, a stint that earned him the move to Rochdale. He signed a new two year contract earlier this year, and it is thought that Everton would have to pay around £1m for his services.
