Stones' injury adds to Everton's lengthy list of injury woes that includes Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, and Kevin Mirallas.
Evertonians will hope that Stones ankle problem is not serious and that he can take the international break to recover. Stones had been demonstrating top form and had replaced the aging and struggling Sylvain Distin at center-back. He put in a strong performance on Thursday in the Europa League matchup against FC Krasnodar.
