Everton were allotted only 5,000 seats at OSC Lille's Stade Pierre-Mauroy for today's UEFA Europa League Group H game, even though the stadium can hold over 50,000 fans. More enterprising Blues were able to get tickets in the home side allocation and rumor has it that over 10,000 fans have made the trip across the channel. We won't really know whether this figure is hyperbole, but the stage has already been set for of the more epic away days with news filtering through of violence last night at a bar and then another near-riot in the main town square this afternoon before the game.
The lineups for the teams are as follows -
Everton starting XI - Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka (c), Distin, Baines, Besic, Barry, McGeady, Barkley, Pienaar, Eto'o.
Everton subs - Joel, Gibson, Lukaku, McCarthy, Atsu, Coleman, Alcaraz
Lille starting XI - Enyema, Corchia, Balmont, Gueye, Rodelin, Kjaer, Beria, Souare, Mavuba, Baka, Origi
Lille subs - Elana, Martin, Frey, Sidibe, Mendes, Rozehnal, Roux
Remember this is an early kickoff (1pm EST for the US fans, live on Fox Soccer 1).
