Stevenage 0 Everton 4 - Player Ratings

How we felt the blues fared in their comfortable 4-0 victory at Broadhall Way

Paul Gilham

Joel Robles - 7

Made a nervy fumble at the start of the game but redeemed himself with a smart stop midway through the first half. Otherwise fairly comfortable.

Tony Hibbert - 7

It was great to see Tony back in the side for the first time this season and he put in a typically no nonsense display. Could have a key role to play between now and May.

Leighton Baines - 8

Baines wasn't quite the attacking threat we know he can be, but he played his part in a solid defensive display.

Phil Jagielka - 7

Led the team well, particularly in the minutes after Oviedo's horror injury. Felt his hamstring at half time and was withdrawn as a precaution.

John Stones - 7

A few weeks ago I would have been nervous about the prospect of Stones starting at Anfield this week, but after another assured display in testing conditions, he looks a certain starter.

Gareth Barry - 7

More of the same from Barry, whose calm experienced head is now a vital component of the team.

James McCarthy - 7

Played his part in making a potentially tricky tie appear easy.

Bryan Oviedo - 6

Oviedo's horrible injury cast a shadow over the whole game. We can only hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Kevin Mirallas - 8

With the likes of Barkley and Pienaar still missing, there is huge responsibility on Mirallas to shoulder the teams's attacking burden. Thankfully he did just that on Saturday and looks to be getting back to his best.

Aiden McGeady - 7

Despite looking short of match fitness McGeady was desperate to impress and showed glimpses of quality.

Steven Naismith - 8

He gets a lot of stick, most of it unfair, but you cannot fault his work rate and dedication. And on Saturday he backed that up with two crucial goals. With Lukaku needing a rest and Traore not yet fully fit, Naismtuh may have a role to play in the coming weeks.

Subs

Jonny Heitinga (Jags 45') - 6

Grabbed the game-killing third goal on what may well be his final Everton appearance.

Magaye Gueye (Mirallas 81') - 7

Made the rarest of appearances from the bench and even grabbed a goal. I doubt we will see much of him again the coming weeks though.

Leon Osman (Oviedo 22') - 8

Came on for the stricken Oviedo and put in a impressive display, using all of his experience to guide Everton through the game.
