Who is on Bobby's watch list this January?

With the transfer window in full swing we give you the low down on all Everton rumoured transfer targets as well as a scout report on each and their chances of joining this window.

Paul Thomas

With Nikica Jelavic off to Hull Everton need to sign a new striker before the transfer deadline at the end of the month. Players such as Kenwyne Jones being mentioned with a move to our club worries me slightly. However, there are some promising names some of whom we have looked at below.

Name: Alfred Finnbogason

Age: 24

Nationality: Icelandic

Scout report:

Finnbogason has had successful spells in Sweden and Belgium before joining current club Hereenveen, where he has flourished under Dutch icon Marco Van Basten. The striker has scored a whopping 41 goals in 49 appearances. Alfred provides a good deal of technical skill, has a superb understanding of other players and is known as a very good reader of the game.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

After reading reports and watching plentiful Youtube clips, Finnbogason appears to look like a player Everton would suit. He appears to be a very hard working player who reads a pass a mile off. I feel the fact that Hereenveen rely on Finnbogason as their only source of goals will mean they will be reluctant to sell. Numerous reports state Hereeveen are deliberately asking for a "OTT" price to prevent the sale in this window, which could mean we wait until summer to sign the player. Chances in this window 4/10.

Name: Javier Hernandez

Age: 25

Nationality: Mexican

Scout report:

We all know a fair bit about Hernandez after watching him for Manchester United in recent seasons. His work rate is unquestionably of a high standard and he is an exceptionally quick player. Hernandez would also provide us with an aerial threat we haven't replaced since the departure of Tim Cahill. Javier does, however, sometime struggle with his first touch and looks to run before he has received the ball. Something that can easily be rectified.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

I personally rate Hernandez highly, although simply running round a pitch doesn't count for a lot in football and his poor recent form and lack of game time is a worry. I think the chances of us signing Hernandez in this window are slightly better than Finnbogason. However I feel David Moyes would request a player exchange plus cash for the Mexican to which is something that Martinez will not buy into. Chances in this window 5/10.

Name: Michy Batshuayi

Age: 20

Nationality: Belgian

Scout report:

Another highly rated young star of the Belgian national setup, as every player seems to be these days! There have been a lot of discussion regarding his playing style; he is quick and very strong, provides a solid pass, enjoys holding the ball up and averages a goal every two games. Michy has been compared to Romelu Lukaku and although they are not exactly the same, it is a great comparison for fans who haven't seem Michy play. Batshuayi is well thought of at Liege but a transfer isn't going to be stopped by the Belgian club.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

Having watched Batshuayi play and seen him often making an impact off the subs bench I feel he can be another brilliant addition to our attack. I would say he has the potential to be a regular Premier League's goalscorer at some point in his career. The Belgian is reported to have a £7.3million release clause in his contract, though reports suggest Everton aren't willing to pay the entire fee upfront. An agreement could be found though as he appears to be Roberto's number one target. Chances in this window 8/10.

Name: Dusan Tadic

Age: 25

Nationality: Serbian

Scout report:

Tadic has been linked with a handful of clubs already in this window, mainly due to his fantastic start he has made with his current club FC Twente. He signed for the Dutch side back in the summer of 2012 and has since become a versatile forward, being able to play on either wing as well as through the middle. He looks likely to end up a centre forward although he hasn't seen much of this position yet. Dusan has a similar playing style to Kevin Mirallas with the added bit of grit and determination to win and keep the ball. The Serbian also knows to provide an accurate pass and cross under pressure, which has seen him get the most assists for Twente so far this season.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

Tadic certainly has the capability to be a superb player. For a winger he doesn't mind to be involved in a crunching tackle or two. After the last negotiations between Everton and Twente fell through over the deal for Leroy Fer, the Dutch side may be reluctant to do business with the Blues once more. They may, however, be persuaded with a cash and player deal involving Johnny Heitinga. Chances this window 6/10.

Name: Oriol Riera

Age: 27

Nationality: Spanish

Scout report:

Riera has been a bit hit and miss at most clubs he has played for in Spain. However, Martinez has been a big fan since his Wigan days and he has seven goals in 15 games since after joining Osasuna last summer. He is a smart performer however on and off the ball, with and added degree of passing and a thunderous shot.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

To be quite honest, Riera doesn't shine stand out as other potential signings might. He has struggled to make his career take off in Spain and was released from the Barcelona academy without making a senior appearance. Having said that my faith in Martinez makes me feel he may have a lot more to offer than the English press perceive him to have. Chances of signing him this window are seemingly as good as any. I'd say 7-8/10.

Name: Alexandre Lacazette

Age: 22

Nationality: French

Scout report:

Lacazette has progressed under the Lyon youth system and is reportedly looking for a move. He is hopeful he will sneak a place on the plane to Brazil this year but he knows to do that he needs to further his career. Alexandre is has been an ever present for Lyon since the 2011/12 season and has scored 10 goals in 22 appearances this term. He has a brilliant understanding with team mates around him and has a brilliant 'knack' of being in the right place at the right time.

Ratings and transfer possibility:

Lacazette is up there with the best strikers we are currently looking at signing in this window. Unproven yes, but he is an out and out striker with a mass of potential under the right management. Unfortunately the chances of signing him in this window, or any for that matter, are somewhat slim. The reason being Lyon are due to have to sell Briand and Gomis - two of just three strikers currently at the club. Should Lacazette get a transfer he is likely to end up at the Emirates with Arsene Wenger, who is reportedly tracking his progress Chances in this window 4/10.
