Ross Barkley will be out 'a while' according to manager Roberto Martinez. The 20-year-old midfielder was doubtful for the Saturday's Norwich match all week, but Martinez confirmed before that match that Barkley will likely be missing some time due to the injury.

That's really ll the details we have on the injury at this point other than the reports early in the week about Barkley having swollen toe. It's possible he's suffered a break or fracture but we'll have to wait on further information from the club at this point.

Barkley has shown signs of becoming the talent so many believed he could be this season having been given regular playing time under Martinez. He's scored three goals in 19 league appearances this season.

He picked up the toe injury in Everton's 4-0 FA Cup victory over Queen Park Rangers.
