What seemed to be a fairly simple fixture has turned into a fairly exciting match. Everton hosts Norwich City in the midst of trying to keep their Champions League bid on track after a slight stumble in recent weeks. Two big news items cropped up, and one could provide Everton with a few problems.
Must Reads
The big news is the immanent departure of Nikica Jelavic. The Croatian is set to join Hull City on a transfer that could rise to 7.5 million quid. Everton announced that a fee had been agreed to Friday night, and if Jelavic makes an appearance for Everton Saturday it is likely his last.
The other news that could be even more important is the injury to Ross Barkley. Roberto Martinez mentioned the youngster hurt is toe during the weekend against QPR, and was 50/50 to play this weekend. His loss would provide a lot of problems for Everton, especially against a squad that is likely to sit back and absorb Everton's pressure. With Phil Jagielka and possibly Sylvian Distin missing out, it could be an interesting Saturday.
As always 3 points will be crucial, and any other result will hurt Everton. Oh, and don't be shocked if there is a surprise or two during the match. You'll know it when you see it if it happens.
