We're down to three designs for the next Everton crest. A topic that has caused more heated debate than was initially expected, we are finally nearing resolution on the choice of the new crest. There have been all sorts of opinions regarding what needs to be on the crest, what colour it has to be, and lots of other thoughts. A key word that has been mentioned often is 'heritage', with most fans in agreement that Prince Rupert's Tower, the laurel wreaths, the year '1878', the motto 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum' and of course, the name of the team all need to be on the crest.
Here are the three crests, with some brief design notes. Go to the Everton website and choose your favorite design, and let's get this resolved.
The most 'classic' of the three, with the motto on the scroll, and the shield design. The new stylized font makes an appearance here lending it a newer touch. Click here for more info.
This has the yellow trim that alternately raise much ire and lent the crest a touch of modernism. Has the old shield design, but looks very much like the new crest that was heavily criticized, and is missing the laurel wreaths as well. Click here for more info.
The last design goes away from the old shield design, and has a modern look to it with the 'cleaner' shields overlapping each other. Classic blue and white again, and the motto is on the top. Click here for more info.
You can also vote here on RBM as we conduct our own mini-poll to see which design you like best.
