Apparently, the old boss is planning an 18 million pound offer for Leighton Baines, as well as putting out the 22 million pounds to trigger Marouane Fellaini's release clause. This certainly is not the first time we've heard these rumors, and Martinez will be very reluctant to let his two stars, who have shown well in friendlies, leave the club.

Newcastle looking to see off Everton for Wigan's James McCarthy - Express

Wigan is apparently hoping to get 20 million pounds for McCarthy. Newcastle cannot offer that either, but I do fear they will end up outbidding us.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez targets £6million Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld - The Mirror

Everton has been interested in Alderweireld for much of the summer. The Mirror suggests that Martinez will try to bring in the Belgian center-back, but only if he sells another player, perhaps Johnny Heitinga.
