Everton has announced the date and time of their FA Cup fixture against QPR. The match will take place on Saturday, January 4th, and kickoff will be at the normal 3pm BST kickoff time. For those in the US that means the match will kickoff at 10am EST.
Unfortunately there are no plans to broadcast the match on television, but there may be some international feeds that will have the match.
This will be Roberto Martinez's first FA Cup match at Goodison Park since he thrashed Everton 3-0 last year as head of Wigan Athletic. Many believe that Everton's decision to hire Martinez came in part because of that fantastic performance by Wigan. Martinez ended up winning the FA Cup last year after beating Manchester City in the final.
For Everton, it is 18 going on 19 years since the Toffees last hoisted a trophy. The 1995 FA Cup is the most recent piece of silverware for the Toffees, and with the optimism now surrounding the club supporters expect a good showing in the final cup competition of the year.
Winning the FA Cup would also guarantee Everton an Europa League bid in a season where the fight to finish in the top 7 will be fierce.
