Well every Friday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday we will scoop up the best the net has to offer, hopefully with good news, but knowing Everton it will be a series of stories linking our best players with moves away!

A glorious hat-trick of awards for Leighton Baines at Everton's end of season Awards ceremony.

As pretty much expected Leighton Baines picked up the player of the season award at a glittering ceremony at the BT Convention Centre on Liverpool's waterfront on Thursday evening. The left-back has been the stand out player for Everton this season, with only Dani Alves of Barcelona supplying more assists from defence than the full-back in the whole of Europe. A fact recognised by his team-mates who also voted him their players player of the season. To complete the hat-trick he also won goal of the season for his dramatic last minute peach of a free kick against Chelsea in the FA Cup 4th Round replay.

Duncan Ferguson made another public appearance, this time to be inducted as one of the Everton giants

The award is given to those who "fought with an unstinting passion, those who have entertained, those to have worn the shirt with boundless pride and those to have made an impression so lasting that it passes from one generation to the next."

Anyone who saw Dunc play will agree he deserves this recognition, while his quotes upon receiving the honour should be emblazoned all across Goodison and the training ground:

"This Club has been a big part of my life and this city has been a big part of my life. I met my wife here and my three kids were born here.

"I miss the place, I miss the football and I miss the derbies. You are a long time retired, I have been retired for five years and it feels like 25. So to the players that are here now, stay in football as long as you can and stay at this Club as long as you can because there is only one way after leaving this Club, and that is down.

"The fans here have always been great towards me. They are unbelievable. They took me in and they are the best fans in the country, if not the world."

Seamus Coleman picks up the Young Player of the season Award

Another one of David Moyes' masterstrokes in the transfer market, Seamus Coleman only cost £60,000 two years ago but has become a mainstay in the side and became a full Irish International this season. He is fully deserving of this award for the progress he has shown this year.

Mindless gossip time: Spurs linked with a move for Sylvain Distin

The Daily Mail are playing transfer darts again, randomly picking a player and a club. To be fair the Spurs buy everyone + Everton have no money theory has been used before, with Steven Pienaar and very nearly Phil Neville making the move to White Hart Lane. But on this occasion I just can't see it happening.

It certainly puts Everton's ownership concerns into focus and serves as a warning to those who just wish chairman Bill Kenwright will sell the club to the first person who comes along with a big cheque.
