Respected Everton forum Grand Old Team is reporting that the Toffees have opened talks with Vfl Wolfsburg of the German Bundesliga regarding the sale of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. In recent times the left winger has expressed his dissatisfaction at the lack of first-team football he has had at Goodison Park. However, his performances during his tenure here have been underwhelming, and his style of play has never seemed to fit in with the work ethic that David Moyes has attempted to instill.
Wolfsburg are reportedly offering £5m while Everton are looking for about £7m, which would be a loss on the £9m they had shelled out two seasons ago.
A native of Moscow and of ethnic Tatar descent, Bilyaletdinov started off with the Lokomotiv Moscow youth teams. In his debut year 2004, Lokomotiv won the Russian Premier League and he was named the league's Young Player of the Year. Bilyaletdinov debuted for the Russian national team in 2005, and played in every game during Russia's run to the semi-finals in Euro 2008. He has 6 goals in 45 international appearances.
