Brentford v Everton: 3rd Round Carling Cup Preview and Live GameThread

New, comments

What: Carling Cup Third Round tie at Brentford

Where: Griffin Park, London

Time: 7:45pm BST and 2:45pm ET

I didn't have a chance to write up a preview (mainly due to laziness) so I decided to combine a short preview and the Live Game Thread into one.

Everton will be travelling to Brentford for the third round of the Carling Cup. The two clubs have not met in 56 years and have only met 16 times altogether. Brentford have not made it to the third round of the Carling Cup since1991/1992.

I don't know too much about Brentford so I am not going to act like I do. From what I have researched, Brentford have had trouble scoring this year in League One. They have kept four consecutive clean sheets and are defending quite well. Robbie Simpson (on loan from Huddersfield) has been brentford's best player this season, but he is doubtful for tonight.

For Everton, Phil Neville and Tim Cahill are coming back from injury and they may play to tune up. Magaye Gueye is also looking for some playing time.

Saha, Rodwell, and Anichebe will be out due to injuries.

As usual, comment below!
