Tottenham v Everton Match Preview

I think everyone has heard by now that there is an injury bug going around at Everton. Our extremely deep midfield has somehow been depleted and it looks like at least one of our players will be playing out of position at White Hart Lane. It seems like the perfect type of match for the Spurs coming off a short week. The Spurs will be coming back from a 4-3 loss against Inter Milan in their Champions League match on Wednesday. Tottenham will be getting the services of Van der Vaart, who was suspended in Milan.

Although Everton seem to have a ton of injuries and have underperformed this season, these are the matches Everton somehow seem to pull out either one or three points from. Coming off of a spectacular victory against our rivals, Liverpool, and a complete week to prepare for the Spurs, Everton should be able to hold their own in spite of injuries.

Everton have lost Leon Osman for at least a month, and Mikel Arteta is a doubt after a persistent groin strain. This adds to the list already injured that includes the likes of Louis Saha, Victor Anichebe, Maruone Fellaini, Jack Rodwell, and Steven Pienaar. This is good news for Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who has fallen out of favor, and Moyes' much talked about "secret weapon" Magaye Gueye.

Only Wigan Athletic have come away with a victory at White Hart Lane this season.

Let's see how well the Blues respond to adversity this season.

Everton Possible Starting XI: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Bilyaletdinov, Heitinga, Coleman, Yakubu, Cahill

Doubts, but may still play: Pienaar, Arteta, Saha

Tottenham Possible Starting XI: Gomes, Hutton, Gallas, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Crouch
